Nam Cuoi Hydro Power Plant – 11MW, Vietnam

This is another captivating endeavor our engineering team undertook in year 2023: a project with a total installed capacity of 11 MW, situated in the northeastern region of Nam Cuoi commune in northern Vietnam. Renewtek comprises a team of engineers experienced in the hydro, solar, and biomass industries. We are capable of delivering high-end technical solutions, including tailor-made automation systems, SCADA, protection systems, and installation, testing, and commissioning services to the power and energy industry.

According to a report from the Vietnam Energy Association, as of 2023, the country hosts over 378 operational hydropower plants, spanning various scales, which collectively furnish approximately 46.8% of the nation’s electricity demand.

The machinery for this project was procured from Gugler Water Turbines GmbH and Gamesa Electric Spain. Meanwhile, the control systems, SCADA, and electrical balance of the power plant were sourced from Sintaksa d.o.o, Croatia.

We delivered the following scope for our esteemed client Sintaksa d.o.o, Croatia.

• Technical management at site
• Installation supervision for electrical and control system
• Test and commission of protection system.
• Test and commission the generators.
• Test and commission the medium voltage system.
• Test and commission the AC auxiliary and DC auxiliary system.
• Assist for the control systems commissioning.
• Commission the Station service transformers.

Renewtek played a pivotal role in overseeing the installation of electrical and control systems, providing consultation, conducting testing, and commissioning. This project was a testament to the collaboration of diverse skillsets, each contributing to the project’s successful fruition.The project served as an excellent demonstration of pushing the technical boundaries for the participating engineers. It was successfully commissioned, completing all site acceptance tests and fulfilling utility-requested assessments.
